By the end of this year, with the Lord’s help and permission, I will have had the great joy of worshiping in 14 different countries of our world. It’ s a “One Body, One Hope, One Spirit, One Calling” kind of moment. Every time I’m in those moments, my meditation is toward the Throne. The Scriptures say that around God’s Throne there will be a tremendous gathering someday. People from every tribe, nation and language will gather at the Throne to sing praise to God. The World is
On the Heart of God.
In days long passed, sailing ships delivered missionaries to their posts after voyages of months. Unknown diseases claimed too many. Lack of communication meant tremendous sacrifice. Still, The World Was On the Heart of God.
Jesus said, “the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it..” Every New Testament Christ-follower is Scripturally commissioned for the nations. And today, we can reach anywhere on the globe in 24 hours. Internet communication keeps us instantly connected. Language barriers are breaking down rapidly. The World is On the Heart of God.
That’s why you see the international flags in our sanctuary now. Each of those flags represents a country where someone in our church has shared the gospel. We are a church that practices obedience to Scripture. That cannot exclude the Great Commission! We will all stand before God someday among an immense crowd representing every nation, tribe and language, because The World is On the Heart of God.
We worship an international, inter-tribal, multi-linguistic Creator who loves all His children. Please consider these flags as banners for the King. What can you do to bring more “banners” to the King’s Throne?
The World is On the Heart of God–
See you Sunday,
Bro Jonathan
PS: We have Zambia, Cuba, China and Israel flags still to display
