At First Baptist Church, we have a simple hope: to see people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their Christian faith. For 141 years, we've been helping spread God's good news here in our hometown and throughout the world. When this church was established, its charter members were 6 women and a former slave. At that time, FBC Carrizo Springs was the church that was the furthest west in Texas, truly on the frontier.
We are a Southern Baptist congregation, which means we support more than 3,800 missionaries world-wide. Our own church members have shared the Gospel in 15 different countries. We believe in the inerrant Word of God. We are a diverse congregation and we preach the brotherhood of humanity. We believe Jesus is coming soon!
